Here's a brief rundown on Augusta area races. Please email us to submit your race.

    The Grass Roots Series is a family friendly event open to competitors of all ages and ability levels. Bring your family, friends, or team. All proceeds will benefit GRU Cross Country and Track and Field programs. Awards will be given out to the top overall male and female and to the top runner in each age group by category. 

    Location Blanchard Woods Park in Evans. Take I-20 WEST to Exit #190. Make a RIGHT off the interstate and follow this a little over 5 miles to Blanchard Road. Make a LEFT on Blanchard Road and follow about 2 miles to park entrance. Parking is behind the facility, please DO NOT park in the grass areas or along the course. 

    RegistrationRegister online at runsignup.com OR mail this form with payment to: GRU Athletics, 1120 15th Street, CFH 214, Augusta, GA 30912. You may also register in person between 7:00 –7:30am on a race day at the park.

    Cost:  $15 per race or $55*for all five paid in advance (non strider members).

    $10 per race or $40*for all five paid in advance (CURRENT strider members only).

    Make checks payable to ASU FOUNDATION. Please list XC/Track on the memo line.

    *You must register and prepay with this form to qualify for the five race discount.

    T-Shirts are available for $10. Your size is NOT guaranteed unless you pre-order before 5/22/15.

    Awards: Top Male/Female overall, as well as overall age group awards to the top runner in their category. Results will be available at AugustaStriders.com. For those wanting a guaranteed t-shirt, please include your shirt size with your entry and an additional $10.00 plus your entry fee (if registering with the paper form) or you can purchase one via the online store. Pre-ordering a shirt will only work for EARLY entries only (i.e. BEFORE race day). We cannot guarantee your shirt size on Race Day unless you win your age group.

    GRU run for the Greenjackets

     

    When:       September 5th, 2015 @ 7:30am

    Where:      Lake Olmstead Stadium located at 78 Milledge Road

    What:        An exciting 5k that will take runners around Lake Olmstead, up (part of) Laurel Lane, and over Broad Street. The race will finish inside the stadium following the outfield warning track!

    A $25 entry fee gets you a spot in the race, GreenJackets gift, and admission into that evenings baseball game @ 7pm.

    The overall male and female winners will also have an opportunity to throw out the first pitch in that evenings games!

    13.1 starting and finishing at the Evans Fitness Center. The course will be gentle rolling hills on the bike path out and back to the Savannah River.

    Our organization is to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Last year, our main sponsor, Evans Fitness Club, raised money for Leukemia/Lymphoma Society by sponsoring a 10K in June. This year, we are teaming up with Evans Fitness Club for Ovarian Cancer to bring the first half marathon to Evans, Georgia. 

    All proceeds from the race will go to Ovarian cancer National Alliance. We look forward to this being an annual event. We hope to see you in September!

    Event details:    Participants will run/walk a 5k course starting at the pavilion in Riverview Park and Follow the Greenway. The course is flat with no hills. Participation is free for children under 12  years of age. Strollers are welcome. Wear you school logos and colors  A free health and wellness fair will start at 9:00 AM and end at 12:00 PM.  All events will take  place rain or shine.  Early registration and package pickup is recommended.  

    All proceeds will benefit The Greater Augusta HBCU Alumni Alliance Scholarship Fund.

    Packet Pick-Up
    Friday Sept 25th 2:00-7:00 pm at the CFNB or Saturday before the race.

    Who is it for?
    Although the main focus is on the 5K race, all ages and abilities are welcome. Strollers are also welcome, but please keep your K9 buddies at home. (they tend to eat all the snacks)

    Project Lifting Spirits, Inc. works to provide gifts and morale boosting events to our local wounded troops and goody boxes to our deployed wounded troops on a regular basis throughout the year. Currently, we provide items to Fort Gordon Army Base, the Veteran's Administration Hospital's Active Duty Rehab Unit, and the Fisher House on Fort Gordon in the Augusta, Georgia area.


    Event details and schedule

     

    The 5k/10k will start promptly at 8:00 a.m.

     


    Parking

    When you enter the Savannah Rapids Park make the first right into parking areas and follow it around the curve. Please park in this area.


    Course Information

    There will be signs that mark each mile for the 5k and 10k distances as well as a turn around sign. Due to the location of the starting line, the distances that are marked will not be accurate.


    T-Shirts

    T-shirts are being ordered and will be available for purchase with your registration and on the day of the event. 


    Refunds

    This event will not provide refunds.


    Age Groups/Awards:

    Age group divisions are 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+. The overall male and female finishers and the first place finishers in the each age group will receive an award.


    Same Day Registration and Starting Line

    Same day registration will be available from 6:45 to 7:30 a.m. at the wooden bridge for $25 for the 5k without the shirt, $30 for the 5k with the shirt, $30 for the 10k without the shirt, and $35 for the 10k with the shirt. Line for registration will end at 7:30 a.m. in order to ensure an on-time start. We will start at the bridge as well in order to accommodate all the runners and walkers that are anticipated to attend this event.


    Timing

    Electronic timing for the 5k and 10k will be provided by Strictly Running.


    Packet Pick-Up

    Packet pick up will be at Fleet Feet (229 Furys Ferry Rd #107, Augusta, GA 30907) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on October 2, 2015. We will also be accepting registrations at this time. $25 for the 5k without the shirt, $30 for the 5k with the shirt, $30 for the 10k without the shirt, and $35 for the 10k with the shirt.

     Turkey Trot

    The Turkey Trot is back! Flash back to the '80s again this year, dressed in your totally rad costume. Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed runners! Don't forget about our Mascot Invitational. 

    All race proceeds will benefit our local Salvation Army. Race start and family friendly activities will be located at the Old Academy of Richmond County (540 Telfair St. Augusta, Ga).
